ALL SIR
GOLFERS,
Please seriously consider attending our Annual Fall Classis Golf Tournament for
2008. We will again be staying at the Santa Ynez Marriott in Buellton and
playing golf for two days. We will play Rancho San Marcos and Alisal River
Course this year. Men will play a Four Man Two Best Net Ball tournament
and the Ladies will be playing a Scramble tournament.
We have shortened the hotel stay this year in order to keep the price as
economical as possible. If you wish to arrive early or stay over you may
contact the hotel directly at the phone number on the entry
form.
We currently have 30 reservations and must book an additional 40 prior to August
1st in order to meet our room guarantee. We want to encourage your assistance in
keeping this event an annual occurrence in this location.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks,
Dave Betts, Chairman
State Golf Committee

Sons In Retirement is a
nonprofit public benefit corporation for retired men, devoted to the promotion
of independence and dignity of retirement.
SIR's purpose is to assist men in renewing former friendships and provide
opportunities to make new friends through association with other retirees.
The only requirement for membership is that a man be retired and sponsored by an
active member.
Membership shall be open to
men retired from fulltime gainful occupation, regardless of age, race, color or
religion.

SIR has some wonderful golf
opportunities. For example, in 2008,
we scheduled tournaments in
Las Vegas,
Reno and a State Scramble Team Championship at Poppy Ridge. Then on to
Solvang, followed by the tournament in Cabo San Lucas in October. The State Individual Championship at Poppy
Hills will be held in early November. The
last tournament of the year, in mid November, is the Mexico Princess Cruise.
Area and Division qualifying tournaments are held at various locations to
determine participation in the two State Championships.
These tournaments are organized by the SIR State Golf Committee made up of 12
members from all of the SIR Golfing Divisions.
Most of our 160 Branches have an NCGA golf club. The clubs usually play
once a week at various local courses. Members
enjoy playing with people from their own branch as well as other branches.
Golf is our most popular Branch activity.
